Dr. Deb Davies, DACM, L.Ac. is teaching some incredibly helpful information to acupuncturists on how to confidently support families postpartum. Dr. Deb will discuss birth and postpartum from her perspective as a doula, childbirth educator, and licensed acupuncturist. Deb shares her knowledge of placenta encapsulation, lochiorrhea, weight gain, stretch marks, breast issues such as clogged ducts, mastitis, slow let down, low milk supply, and the importance of mental health care during this time.

Course Outline

0 hrs - 15 minLearn about zi he chi (placenta) from a TCM perspective and how it can be incorpated into postpartum through placenta encapsulation.

15 min - 30 minIdentify common postpartum complaints including lochiorrhea, weight gain, stretch marks, and breast issues.

30 min - 45 minLearn protocols for lochiorrhea, weight gain, stretch marks, and breast issues with TCM modalities including auricular acupuncture.

45 min - 1 hrsDevelop an understanding of postpartum mental health conditions and how to support patients with TCM resources.
